Hoy no es el Día de Libertad de Prensa, pero sí es un día para hablar y reflexionar sobre los derechos, las libertades y una profesión como es el periodismo, porque este 2 de noviembre se conmemora el Día Internacional para Poner Fin a la Impunidad de los crímenes contra periodistas.
Yo no soy periodista, soy comunicadora y desde mi infancia he sentido un gran respeto y amor por esta profesión, que independientemente de los títulos habla de personas que se acercan a otras personas, personas que acercan a los demás a otras personas y que arriesgan su propio bienestar por intentar cambiar este mundo.
En Harca Marketing Sostenible también compartimos esta misión de hacer de este mundo un lugar mejor, de enfrentarnos a los acuciantes problemas que tenemos, por eso, queremos dedicar un espacio a esta fecha, porque lo que no se cuenta se calla, lo que se calla se invisibiliza, y contra lo invisible no se puede luchar.
Según Naciones Unidas, en los últimos 10 años más de 800 periodistas han sido asesinados por su trabajo, sin embargo sólo el 10% de estos crímenes acabaron en condena. Ante esta horrible realidad, en 2013, la Asamblea General aprueba una primera resolución sobre la seguridad de los periodistas y la cuestión de la impunidad, y en conmemoración del asesinato de dos periodistas franceses en Malí en 2013, se elige el 2 de noviembre como la fecha destacada para reflexionar sobre las medidas que se deben afrontar para combatir la violencia contra los periodistas, y el hecho de la impunidad de los responsables.
En todos los lugares del mundo hay personas que están siendo agredidas por contar lo que sucede allá donde están. El 3 de mayo Amnistía Internacional realizó este reportaje sobre 10 casos de periodistas.
Pero como decimos, en todos los sitios muchas más personas arriesgan su vida. Por eso os pedimos un momento en este día, para repasar las campañas de Amnistía Internacional. Si en su web filtramos las campañas por “censura y libertad de expresión” “activistas y defensores de los derechos humanos” “detención”… aparecen 11.794 resultados, casi 12.000 historias de personas que han luchado por los Derechos Humanos, que merecen nuestra atención y una reflexión, necesitamos más que nunca de una comunicación crítica y responsable, necesitamos más que nunca profesionales comprometidos y necesitamos un compromiso social y sostenible para luchar contra la violencia en todas sus manifestaciones.
